How Does Teamwork Lead to Weight Loss Success?

Bariatric surgery shouldn’t be taken lightly. Its success relies on both the efforts of the patient and the bariatric surgery team. Hence, bariatric surgery is a team effort.

At New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery in Knoxville, TN, we have a well-experienced multi-disciplinary team who are dedicated to educating you, treating you and helping you meet your weight loss goals.

Our team at New Life includes:

Bariatric and General Surgeon
Dr. K Robert Williams is the Medical Director of New Life Center for Bariatric Surgery and Parkwest Center for Bariatric Surgery in Knoxville, TN. He has performed over 2,000 bariatric surgeries in the past decade and is a fellowship-trained minimally invasive bariatric surgeon.

Bariatric Nurse
We have a certified Bariatric Nurse, Sarah Grimes, who has worked with bariatric patients for over 15 years. She is very passionate about educating patients and making them feel good about their weight loss journey.

Clinical Exercise Physiologist
To help you with your exercise program, Morgan Thomas is a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and a Certified Speed Specialist (CSS) through the National Association of Speed and Explosion (NASE).

Registered Dietitian
Bariatric surgery changes the way your body handles and processes food. Hence, there are dietary changes you need to follow to prevent complications and health issues (e.g. nutrient deficiencies). Our Registered Bariatric Dietitian, Krystal Cameron, will help you in that area.

Bariatric Patient Coordinator
At New Life, we take pride in providing excellent customer service. Our Bariatric Patient Coordinator, Amanda Burgio, is exceptional in patient care. She makes sure that all the appointments that you need are scheduled accordingly.

Office Manager
We want you to have a positive experience in this new journey. Our Office Manager, Ashley Ellis, will make sure that you have everything that you need.

Our Patient
Of course, there’s YOU! You will play a vital role in the success of your bariatric surgery.

As Dr. Williams says:
“The patient is the most important part of the team. Everybody has a job to do but the patient’s job is probably the hardest job to do. However, if everybody does the job well, the outcome will be good. When it comes to bariatric surgery, it’s really a team approach. It’s not just a surgeon and a patient. Although there’s a lot of interaction between a surgeon and a patient, there’s a team of caregivers behind it who we use.”

Ready to start your journey on your New Life? Your very first step is attending our FREE information seminar. This is required of all our patients prior to the procedure. In this seminar, you will learn everything you need to know about bariatric surgery. We offer two options to choose from: an Online or In-person session with Dr. Williams.
